Frimurerlogen - Art Fest at the Freemasonry

For over two years I had only been dreaming of renting the most beautiful thinkable venue for an art show: Storsalen at Frimurerlogen, a Freemasonry in Trondheim, Norway. Not joking: I had the page with the “rent” button on a shortcut on my start page on my computer, wishing that my art sales would one day allow me to rent this venue for a day.
Then my phone rang as I was floating about in stormy rainy Sicily: I had won an art competition and I was welcomed to own this venue for a day!
Next thing happens: Covid-19 kicked in for real and Italy went into lockdown. Flights were cancelled and we weren’t really allowed to leave the marina without a written permission, we were sharing different food between households, not knowing if this was going to get really tough for a longer period.
Managed to get new flights to Krakow the last day before Poland also went into lockdown and before Norway decided do not receive any more flights from Poland. We made it here!
Arrival in t-shirt and shorts on a late snowy night in Norway to find that the car had broken down. Getting life sorted and moving to a new place while having to quarantine for 14 days was a challenge. The next days I would realise that all art shows had been either postponed or cancelled, and that art deliveries would get close to impossible to send – at least to arrive, safely and in good time. Of course, knowing others were really struggling during Covid-19 did not make things any better: this is just the view of art life during this time.

Time flew while painting away, and a month later we could finally figure out a safe way to throw an art show: with a limited amount of guests, safety first and restrictions followed, I was – with my guests, warmly welcomed by Mojo Events, a company which literally creates magic, in the most fantastic venue I had won for a day. We had a video running on a big screen, a small concert with one of my favorite singers and supporters of my art, Halvard, and an incredibly welcoming staff making everything run smoothly. I was also so lucky to have a member from Swing’It (a 1920 jazz band) play piano, what an actual cherry on the cake.

Before the event Videomakeriet offered a little photoshoot too. Feeling very thankful for everything, from the help organising and to those who came.
